When this six-story building with a rooftop penthouse was completed in 1925,it was called the 'Kraemer skyscraper' after its builder Samuel Kraemer, a prominent Orange County businessman, millionare oilman and rancher. The elegant building, with decorative tile and classical trimming, was in an architectural class by itself. The recent restoration has returned the building to simple elegance of design by architect M. Eugene Durfee.
