North Gate Site Landmark

A marker shows the area where the original townsite of Anaheim was once walled by a living fence of willow poles planted to protect the vineyards from herds of wild cattle roaming the counrtyside. Entrance to and from the town was gained through four gates erected at the north, east, south and west endsof the two principal streets in the colony. The site is California Historic al Landmark #12.
