Auditions will be held at the Community Receation Center on Sat. May 16 and Sun. May 17. Please call for audition times. Auditionees need to be prepared to sing and dance; an accompanist will be provided. The production will perform weekend evenings July 31 to Aug. 29, including some Thursdays, at the Buena Park Community Recreation Center Patio Theatre, 8150 Knott Ave. Buena Park.About the Play... A tender, poignant and consistently funny look at the misadventures, in the ways of love encountered by the gullible and guileless Charity Hope Valentine, who always gives her heart and her earnings to the wrong man. Charity sings, dances, laughs and cries her way through romances with the "animal magnetism" hero, the "ultra-chic continental" hero, and the "impossible-to-believe-but he's-better-than-nothing" type hero. Sweet Charity is set on the all too real world of Times Square--and the people are as deceptively charming a group as ever swept across any stage.
