Kayaking and Whales

Type: Classes
Category: Nature

Gray whales head down to Baja in the early Winter and back up north in the early Spring. Luckily for kayakers, these giant cetaceans come close to land wherever there's a point - like Dana Point. Although there's no guarantee, we sometimes see whales as we paddle offshore between Nov. and Mar. Your guide will discuss the behaviors of whales (sounding, spy hopping, calving and more) as we paddle sleek, closed cockpit touring kayaks. Prerequisite: skills from a four hour kayaking class plus wet exits. Children 11-14 yrs are required to have a parent enroll in class also. Must pre-register. Ages: 11 yrs - adult.
