This will be Ortiz-Torres's first survey, an artist who has been commuting for the last seven years across U.S. and Mexican borders without arriving yet. Ortiz-Torres uses different media to explore and participate in the linguistic, aesthetic, social and other collisions of art and culture in the shifting context of the New World. This show will include his paintings, photographs, "baseball hats", videos, and installations. The exhibit will include "Alien Toy UCO (Unidentified Cruising Object)," a video installation that incorporates the amazing, exploding, bust-apart car--built by world champion low-rider Chava Munoz.
