Cypress Community Festival

The Largest One-day Event in Orange County!

The Cypress Community Festival was our most successful and well attended event to date. The crowd was estimated at 21,000 providing ample proof that this is truly the largest one-day event in Orange County! Showcasing commercial and civic interests, the Festival provides fund raising opportunities and exposure. The nonprofit areas boasted over 100 arts and crafts booths, 15 information booths, 5 game and 15 food booths. The City's Used Oil Recycling Program distribued over 700 oil recycling containers. The Chamber's Business Expo commercial area included 10 food booths and 85 local and area-wide commercial booths. The Cypress Kiwanis got everyone off to a good start serving over 1200 pancake breakfasts! The 16th Annual Cypress Chili Cookoff hosted by the Friends of Cypress Recreation and Parks, Inc., produced some of the meanest, tastiest, chili west of the Rockies. A live country/western band entertained the lively crowd. A Classic Car Show also proved to be a real crowd pleaser. The 15th Annual 5K/10K Run and 2 Mile Stroll committee, who began preparing for this event at 3:00 am, registered over 1200 runners as well as 700 strollers, dogs and babies. Community volunteers are the key to presenting this event. Over 9,000 hours were donated during the planning and implementation of this year's event. The Cypress Community Festival Association, who began planning this event last January, extends its warmest wishes and thanks to this year's sponsors, participating groups, individuals and organizations who made this year's Festival a success.

6th Annual Tree Donation Project

Sponsored by the Friends of Cypress Recreation & Parks, Inc., the Tree Donation Project is designed to renew our community forests and beautify our neighborhoods. Eighty-eight trees have been donated since the program began. Each tax deductible donation purchases a new tree. Donations may be made in your name, in the name of a loved one, or in the name of an organization. Donations of actual trees cannot be accepted.
