This structure symbolized the beginning of a new era of development in the rich La Habra Valley. When the depot opened in 1909, the La Habra line becameone of the most significant factors in Southern California progress. Crops and supplies to the new oil fields were rapidly transported by the popular 'Red Cars.' The depot is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is Orange County Historical Commission site #14.
