This semi-steep trail meanders through a dense thicket of coastal sage and chaparral plant species. From the top of the ridge at the West Ridge Trail the trail user is provided an excellent overview of Wood Canyon. In the future, the Cholla Trail should be extended down into Laguna Canyon for visitor access from El Toro and Laguna Canyon Roads. Equestrian and mountain bike riding permitted first 200 yards.
