This provides a challenging but well 'worth it' hike. The trail quickly rises up Wood Canyon's west ridge, follows the ridge top, then descends in Wood Canyon joining Coyote Run Trail. The trail offers scenic overviews of Wood and Mathis Canyon and transverses three natural plant communities, grasslandsand, coastal sage scrub and riparian.
