The trail follows a southerly direction through a grassland/meadow dotted with oak trees. It then turns west ascending a gentle grade passing pristine oak groves featuring large oak trees. The trail intersects Horned Toad Trail continuing west then north through riparian willow habitat and grassland. Turning east crossing a steep ravine and up a moderate hill to 600 feet.
