This loop trail ascends up a steep 30% grade to Horned Toad Vista Point. At 700 feet (second highest trail point in park), the vista point provides great panoramic views of Cleveland National Forest, Saddleback Mountain, CaspersWilderness Park's west ridge, Canada Gobernadora, Coto de Caza and the park . The vista point serves as a nice 'rest stop' for trail users and meanders through coastal sage scrub providing a 'close up' view of the habitat.
