Trail winds upward in a westerly direction through steep terrain characterized by coastal sage scrub, oak woodland and open grassland. The trail terminates at Vista Lookout (elevation 1,492) and the Live Oak Trail. Vista Lookoutprovides a rest stop and excellent views of Saddleback mountain range and s urrounding land forms. An interpretive exhibit created by Boy Scouts provides information on the mountain range.
