Oceanography for Sailors

The study of oceanography can aid the sailor in many ways. Learn how wave refraction indicates landfalls and wave patterns hold clues to approaching weather systems. Bottom types can reveal a diversity of information from different types of sea life to the best anchorages. Knowledge of reef systems and shorelines can aid with fishing, shelling and even finding the best surf spots.
