Poweryacht Operation and Management

Conducted aboard the 70-foot motoryacht, "Wide Waters".This intensive course covers eight major subject areas over five days. Almost the entire time spent aboard with two expert captain/instructors. Through a combination of lecture, demonstration and hands-on experience, participants gain information and skills that would otherwise take years to acquire.Underway, you will be operating the yacht in a wide variety of situations designed to improve skills and confidence. All lectures are conducted on board where practical demonstration can easily take place. Guest experts contribute from the fields of insurance, maintenance and electronics. Underway practice includes docking, anchoring, maneuvering in congested situations, rules of the road, piloting, coastal navagation, GPS, radios, engine room management and night operation.This is a live-aboard course with the final two days spent on a 70 mile cruise to Los Angeles Harbor and Catalina Island.
