For Master/Mate (Near Coastal or inland Waters) or Operator, Uninspected Passenger Vessel.The instructor, has over 14 years teaching these courses and has a success rate of over 92%.For power and sail boaters, commercial operators and yachtsmen, these intensive courses are designed to teach you the skills needed to obtain a USCG license. These are not beginner's courses. Approsimately 40% of instructional and study time will be spent on the Navagation Rules (Rules of the Road), 20% on Coastal Piloting & Plotting, and 40% on the remainder of the subjects. Students are provided with an official copy of the Naviagtion Rules, the required training charts, a student workbook and study guide, quizzes, exercises, and other materials relevant to the license sought. Please call the OCC Sailing Center and Marine Programs office for an explanation of the USCG requirements for obtaining a license.There is an optional CPR and First Aid class offered for $50.Call the OCC Sailing Center Office for the July schedule.(Classes listed are for the Spring Session.)
