You don't need a mega-yacht to cruise to the South Pacific, but cruising aboard a small boat presents special challenges for the offshore sailor. Charlie and Margaret Dewell share their experience of cruising 10,000 miles through the South Pacific aboard "Kawabunga", their 20 foot Pacific Seacraft Flicka. They will discuss how they prepared, provisioned and equipped their little sloop for extended cruising. They share what ideas were good and bad, what equipment worked and what failed. They detail the unusual concerns and advantages presented by cruising in a small vessel. The thrill of sailing to paradise, including an uninhabited atoll are presented in a colorful slide presentation. Questions and comments from the audience will be encouraged.
