This complex named for Moses H. Sherman, an educator and California pioneer,has grown to cover a city block. The historical research library is devoted to the study of the Pacific Southwest with emphasis on the past 100 years. Its collection includes thousands of books and a sizable number of maps and photographs. The botanical collection includes rare desert cacti to bromelia, orchids and other tropical plants.
