Plaza Historic District

Boundaries of the plaza were established in the 1871 Survey that Capt. T. Glassell made for the town's founders, Alfred B. Chapman and Andrew Glassell. Today, the plaza is surrounded by more than 50 commercial buildings of architectural interest. Many date back to the turn of the century and contribute to the area's historic character. The district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
