Wide, sandy beach beginning at the end of tall sandstone bluffs; Trestles beach can be reached at two points. A paved trail leads to the beach from a parking lot at Christianitos Rd. and El Camino Real near the southern boundry of the city of San Clemente; the parking lot is on the east side of the highway next to Carl's Jr. and is open from 5am to 10pm. Trestles beach can also be reached from the north end of Basilone Rd. just west of the highway; a drop off point provides access to an unpaved trail through the blufftop San Mateo Creek Preserve. No parking is permitted at that point.
