The trail commences at Ortega Flats day use area near the park's main entrane. The trail follows a truck trail adjacent to the highway in a northerly direction. The trail meanders along a moderate slope, through a 'mesa' grassland, canyon bottom, and then heading west for a second highway and continueswest for approx. 100 feet and joins the firebreak. The trail heads south an d completes the loop to Ortega Flats.
