Originally located on Camino Capistrano at the Ortega Hwy intersection, thisjail cell was built in 1896 to seve as a holding cell for miscreants on the ir way to the county jail in Santa Ana. The jail, formerly the scene of several jailbreaks and one hanging, is Orange County Commission site #34.
